*IGUKSOC.COM:
In June 2003 a group of like minded Italian
Greyhound owners got together to form a web site based Society called
the United Kingdom Italian Greyhound Society.
More recently The Italian Greyhound Club
finally set up its own website (after many years of apathy in that
direction) a fact that has now been covered for weeks on end in the
Dog World Breed Notes in case anyone missed it them forstr time around!!.It
has hailed itself as the 'only' official Italian Greyhound website
recognised by the Kennel Club. It would appear that the IG Club is
also the 'only' official Club recognised by the Kennel Club, a fact
that only the IG Club appears to be concerned about.
All well and fine I hear you say so what
is the point of this news. Well it would appear that this town ain't
big enough for the both of us albeit that one us is only web based.
It appears that a member of the IG Club (and not a committee member
at that!) has been contacting the links to our web site ordering them
to remove our link from their sites.
It also appears that to belong to both
Clubs is a heinous crime punishable by having your playground rights
revoked and if you are really lucky they send you to Coventry too and
I don't mean Sky Blue Connexion!!.
For those of us who have slipped by the
wayside( or in my case resigned my membership) to also have the IG
Club 'Funday' scheduled to coincide with your judging appointment!
Couple this with IG owners who are being
asked whose camp they are in and you will start to get the drift.
The recent IG Open Show catalogue sported
a new addition to the list of exhibitors in the form of an asterisk
against the names of members. Sorry I G Club but you could have saved
yourselves a lot of ink as there were only three of us with out an
asterisk. If you had done it the other way round you could have really
highlighted those who dare not to be members.
The breed note writer for 'Dog World'
Mrs Francis Adams says at the end of her notes for Friday 7th Nov
03 " what
nice people our dogs are', all I can say is thank god they don't
take after some of their owners

*Nice to see British breeding in some of the show results and also
in lure coursing and racing:
Many Congratulations must go to member Helen Rishworth aged only 10
years who qualified for the supreme junior handling final to be held
in January.
She and her IG Artmeis Entente Cordiale ( A.K.A Sean ) have notched up an impressive
set of wins not only in handling classes but also in breed and stakes classes
too.
Helen has also been very successful with her mother's CH Whippet and is a dab
hand at agility too!!!
Soon we hope to include the breeding of some of the show dogs that appear on
our site.
